Norman R. Knisely, 76, of Tiffin, died after an extended illness at 2:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, surrounded by his family.
He was born May 14, 1935, in Risingsun, to the late Robert K. and Helen G. (Cheney) Knisely. He married Shirley A. Mansfield June 10, 1955, at First Christian Church, Fostoria, and she survives in Tiffin.
Also surviving is a son, Douglas N. (Yantao Wang) Knisely of Evanston, Ill.; a daughter, Joan E. (Randall) Violante of Hilliard; four grandchildren, Katherine Knisely, Emily Knisely, Paige Violante and Ronald Violante; and two sisters, Saundra (Greg) Smith and Nikki (Terry) Vitte, both of Fostoria.
Norm had a long and successful career in the restaurant services industry and was a gifted and accomplished gardener and landscaper. He served in the United States Army Reserves for six years and was a graduate of Fostoria High School and attended The Ohio State University.
He had been a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, serving as a deacon and teaching Sunday school. His family remembers him as a dedicated and loving father and husband who always worked extremely hard to provide the best life for his family.
At Norm's request there will be no services.
Memorials are suggested to Bridge Hospice, Findlay.
