Robert W. Borough

Robert W. Borough, 80, of Tiffin, passed away at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Robert was born Nov. 30, 1931, on his home farm where he still lived until his death, to the late Horace and Ethel (Knepper) Borough. He married Margaret Ann (Dayton) June 18, 1954, at Fort Seneca Community United Church of Christ, and she survives.

Also surviving are his three daughters, Bobbie Jo (Wesley) Hedges of Tiffin, Dr. Pamela (Rick) Lavrich of Upper Saddle River, N.J., and Ren (Greg) Haubert of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Chad (Sarah) McCalla, Rachael (Matt) DeLauro, Michael McCalla, Reilly, Aiden, and Olwen Lavrich, Kyle Hill and Hannah, Morgan and Logan Haubert; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Blake; a brother, Richard (Eileen) Borough of Mississippi; and two sisters, Anna (Waldo) Zeis of Tiffin and Mary Lucas of Colorado.

Robert was a lifelong famer and a member of Fort Seneca Community United Church of Christ. He was a fourth generation farmer, a member of Old Fort Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Award, a board member of Ag Credit for many years, a Pleasant Township Trustee, and received many awards for being an outstanding farmer. Robert was a 1949 graduate of Ohio Fort High School and was very committed to everything he did, always giving 110 percent. He was also very proud of his daughters and their families in their accomplishments.

A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Fort Seneca Community United Church of Christ with the Rev. Becky Jones officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, Tiffin. There will be a private family burial at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fort Seneca Community United Church of Christ or to Fremont Memorial Hospice.
