Flossie J. Ariza, 85, of Fostoria, passed away at 12:13 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Independence House, Fostoria.
She was born Nov. 3, 1926, in Risingsun, to Willis and Ethel (Snyder) Crawford. She married Joseph C. Ariza May 28, 1952, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and he died April 26, 2011.
Surviving are three daughters, Sue (Steve) Williams of Fostoria, Eileen Myers of Findlay and Nancy (T.J.) Borer of New Riegel; and seven grandchildren, Leslie Myers, Marissa Nay, Jeff, Bryan and Cory Williams and Jeremy and Kaitlyn Borer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William, Clint and infant, Charles Crawford; and two sisters, Dorothy Wilch and Margaret Alley.
Flossie retired in 1971 from the Risingsun Post Office as a postal clerk after 27 years of service. She was a 1944 graduate of Risingsun High School and a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, Eagles Auxiliary and Ladies of the Moose. She enjoyed eating out with her friends and family and will be dearly missed by her family and "grandanimals."
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be at 3:45 p.m.
Her Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Wendelin School Educational Foundation or the Fostoria Community Hospital Foundation.
