Ruth G. Swisher

Ruth G. Swisher, 100, of Fostoria, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

She was born Nov. 20, 1911, in Bascom, to John and Frances (Baldauf) Brickner. She married George Swisher May 7, 1960, and he preceded her in death Aug. 14, 1981.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Laurent, Roman, Michael, Robert, Ralph, Wade and Cletus; two sisters, Mabel Sager and Evelyn Reindl; and niece and good friend, Martha Sager.

Ruth was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown, and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She worked at General Electric for many years as a press operator and at Continental Can Company, Van Wert. She enjoyed playing cards, attending church festivals and "lawn fates."

Her Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. The rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Thursday, April 26, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
