Shirley M. Heck

Shirley M. Heck, 79, of Tiffin, passed away suddenly, Tuesday morning, April 24, 2012, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.

She was born Nov. 25, 1932, in Norfolk, Va., to George and Ethel Hughes. She married Norman L. Heck July 28, 1951, in Hicksville, and he preceded her in death July 5, 2011.

Survivors include two sons, Dallas (Sue) Heck of Tiffin and Dennis (Deb Knowles) Heck of Versailles, Ky.; a brother, George (Alice) Hughes of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Charlotte Perkins of Newport News, Va., and Margarette Foster of Chesapeake, Va.; four grandchildren, Eric Heck, Rachel Heck, Angela Heck and Stephanie Heck; and one great-grandson, Wyatt Heck.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and twin daughters, Donna Lu and Denise Lynn Heck.

Shirley graduated in 1950 from Carey High School. She worked at the Seneca County Clerk of Courts for over 20 years and as a cashier at Kroger for over 20 years. She was a secretary at Memorial United Methodist Church, Carey, and was a member of the Woman of the Moose, Chapter 1001.

Shirley enjoyed traveling to many states; especially Myrtle Beach, S.C. She loved her dog, Cassie, all animals and hand fed squirrels. She enjoyed flowering, gardening and was always very active. She really loved watching her great-grandson, Wyatt.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with the Rev. Dr. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 27, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care or FACT.
