SHELBY - Columbian flexed some muscle Tuesday in Shelby, and in the process, moved back into a first-place tie with Norwalk in the Northern Ohio League.
Tyler Fuhrer, Carter Mullins and Logan Tracy all bashed home runs, and the Tornadoes scored 18 of their 19 runs in the first three innings, pounding the Whippets 19-6.
Mullins had four hits for the Tornadoes, who improved to 10-5, 5-2 in the NOL. The 5-2 mark ties TC with the Truckers at the top of the NOL. Norwalk lost to Sandusky on Tuesday.
Tyler Fuhrer also had four hits. Fuhrer and Mullins combined to drive in seven runs. Tracy had three hits, scored three runs and had three RBIs.
Fuhrer threw all five of the game's innings, allowing four earned runs on nine hits, striking out three.

ATTICA - Billy Diehm had two hits and scored two runs, and Dalton Wise scored three times and had two hits as Seneca East shut out Mansfield St. Peter, 10-0 in six innings.
Diehm also threw the game's first three innings for the win on the mound. His catcher, Kyle Depinet, had a double and three RBIs.
The Spartans collected only one hit in the game.
Seneca East improved to 14-4.
Mohawk silences Van Buren's bats
SYCAMORE - Whether it was Andrew Loose or Nathan Weinandy on the mound, it made no difference as Van Buren struggled hitting against both. Loose and Weinandy combined on a one-hitter as Mohawk stopped the Black Knights, 7-1.
Loose pitched the first four innings, striking out three and allowing one hit and one unearned run. Weinandy closed out the game walking two in three innings.
At the plate, Aric Shock doubled, singled and drove in two runs. Mitch Brown also added a double and two RBI. Loose, Jonathon Morter and Devon Fredrtiz all added RBI.
Mohawk evens up its record at 6-6 with the win.
