SYCAMORE - Half of Mohawk's 10 hits went for extra base hits, including a home run from Taylor McClain, in an 11-3 victory over Van Buren. Molli Cartwright was the game's winning pitcher, striking out seven. At the plate she also tripled, drove in a run and scored twice. Clara Adelsperger tripled and drove in two while Ashley Cooper doubled and drove in two.

Sarah Runion added a double and an RBI and Nikki Kieffer also drove in a run.

Reiters power Mohawks

FOSTORIA - Chloe Reiter threw a complete game five-hit shutout and Meghan Reiter provided the offense in a 9-0 St. Wendelin win over Ridgemont. Chloe struck out 10 Golden Gophers while walking only one. Meghan went 3 for 5 with a double and 3 RBIs.

St. Wendelin scored six times in the second to put the Gophers in a deep hole.

Edy Mowrey and Madison Gilliland also had two-hit days while Beth Hay drove in a pair of runs. Adrienne Emerine also had an RBI.

Miller shuts down TC offense

SHELBY - For the second time this season, Columbian's batters had trouble solving Shelby pitcher Mikala Miller, managing five hits in a 10-1 loss to the Whippets.

Taylor Goth drove in three runs for Shelby. Erica Thornsberry scored twice.

Columbian (2-17, 0-7) got a single and a run scored from Sara Berecz.
