BASCOM - Dick Freeborn told Hopewell Township trustees about a fundraising program for Meadowbrook Park planned for Nov. 1 during a regular meeting Monday evening.
It is a one-man show called "Woody's Coming," starring Jeff Hall portraying Ohio State's legendary coach Woody Hayes in a motivational program. More information will be available soon.
The trustees voted to pay $5,000 toward the cost for a used bucket truck for Meadowbrook Park and township property. It represents a portion of the total. The balance will be paid by the Friends of Meadowbrook.
A resolution was approved to commit to pay half the cost toward an update to a bridge on TR 112, not to exceed $42,000, as received from the county engineer.
The matter concerning a new wireless communication tower on TR 112 continues to be researched.
In other matters, the board:
Learned the township is receiving 2 percent of an applicable bed tax.
Plans to review TR 119 and TR 112 to possibly be sealed and TR 101, 121 and 109 to be crack sealed this summer.
Expressed the need for more lifeguards for the park pools.
Noted recycling times are 9-11:30 a.m. Saturday.
The next regular meeting is 7:30 p.m. May 14.
