In protest

April 24, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

People carry signs as they walk in protest through downtown Fostoria Monday afternoon. A participant said they were protesting police brutality, animal cruelty and child endangerment by police. Last week, a dog was shot and killed when Seneca County Drug Task Force METRICH Enforcement Unit, along with officers from Fostoria Police Department and Seneca County Search Warrant Team, executed a drug-related search warrant at the home of Ernesto Gonzales, 29, of 221 E. North St. Marijuana, money, criminal tools, drug paraphernalia and a substantial amount of ammunition were found, according to a release. Chief John McGuire of Fostoria Police Department said as special response team members entered the residence, the mixed-breed dog aggressively approached officers and was shot.
