Prevent oral cancer
FOSTORIA - The Tri-County Dental Center, 521 Summit St., Fostoria, is to host a free oral cancer screening 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Sale to benefit youth group
Family of Faith Lutheran Church is having a Market Merchant Day to benefit its youth program. The sale is to run 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in the church's space at Tiffin Mall. Family of Faith youth are preparing for a trip to Nashville, Tenn., July 5-8 for an event is called "Kids Against Hunger."
In addition to a bake sale, find gifts for Mother's Day, graduation, weddings and birthdays. All merchants are to have information about starting one's own business. The vendors include Premier Designs Jewelry, Union Springs Wellness, Melaleuca Wellness Co., Tupperware, 31 Bags, Avon, Pampered Chef, Stamping Up, Stanley Home & Fuller Brush, WildTree, Pink Zebra, HerbalLife, It Works, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Scentsy and Longaberger Baskets.
Pancakes will be flipping
Tiffin Optimist Club is to serve a pancake and sausage breakfast 8 a.m.-noon Sunday at the Seneca County Fairgrounds. The meal is $6 for adults and $4 for seniors and children.
Nifty 50 is card party theme
"Celebrating 50" is the theme of a May 2 luncheon, card party, bingo, bake sale and raffle, sponsored by the St. Francis Home Auxiliary. The doors are to open at 10:30 a.m., with lunch served at noon in Elizabeth Schafer Auditorium, 190 St. Francis Ave. Tickets can be purchased at the front desk of St. Francis Home or at the door at a cost of $7 per person. Proceeds from the event are to be used to benefit the residents of the home.
Art class added
The Tiffin Art Guild has added a new class, "Unleash Your Creativity," slated for 7-9 p.m. May 3 at the gallery, 178 S. Washington St., Tiffin. Instructor Emily Bisignano is to help participants to get out of their creative ruts and do something new. The registration fee of $5 is due at the time of class. Deadline nears for crafters and artists to be at festival
St. Mary Festival is seeking local vendors for a craft show 11 a.m.-6 p.m. June 3 in conjunction with the church's annual festival. Only handcrafted products are to be permitted (no buy/resale items). Booth space is 10 feet by 10 feet inside the St. Mary School building and 12 feet by 12 feet outside along the perimeter of the school, 75 N. Sandusky St. Spaces are to be assigned in order of payment received. Confirmation letters are to be sent by email with a map and details regarding show setup. Set up can begin at 8 a.m. June 3.
Artists/crafters are to provide their own tables, set-up equipment, canopy, etc. St. Mary would supply the space. The cost is $35 per space outdoors and $50 per space indoors.
