F. Robert "Bob" Held, 88, of Clyde, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Elmwood at the Springs, Green Springs.
Mr. Held was born April 27, 1923, in Fremont, to Francis and Cecila (Sutter) Held.
He married Berdella Rock July 1, 1944, and she preceded him in death Oct. 13, 2004.
Survivors include three children, Bruce (Martha) Held and Robert Held, all of Clyde, and Beth Dorobek of Fremont; five grandchildren; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann (Tommy) Wagner of Fremont; a brother, Donald (Carlene) Held of Lindsay; and friend, Frances Hartley of Sandusky.
Mr. Held was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a sister, Lucy Nietfeld, and her husband, Bill; a brother, Thomas Held, and his wife, Sally; and a sister-in-law, Madeline Dayringer.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and served aboard Mary Ashley Townsend.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 6:30-9 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. A service will be 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
His funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clyde, with the Rev. Ed Schleter officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery with military honors being provided by Clyde VFW and American Legion.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or Stein Hospice.
