UPPER SANDUSKY - Brigitte Snow blasted an RBI single off the glove of the third baseman in the bottom of the 14th as Upper Sandusky squeaked past North Central Conference foe Crestline 1-0 Friday.
TiffanyTowns led off the 14th by getting hit by a pitch and moved to second on Amber Cox's walk.
Snow rocketed a 2-2 pitch off the third baseman's glove and the ball bounced far enough away to let Towns score.
Allie Smith (8-6) went the distance for the Rams (8-6, 4-1 NCC), striking out six and allowing only one hit and three walks.
Kelsi Ronk had Crestline's lone single in the 12th.
Crestline missed two scoring chances earlier in the game.
The Bulldogs (10-7, 2-4) had a runner on third with two outs in the third, but Smith induced a flyout.
In the eighth, Mara Huber drew a walk and went to second on Sammie Matthews' sac, but was doubled up there when Upper Sandusky left fielder Maranda Stansbery snared Chelsea Makeever's line drive and fired the ball to Towns at second.
Crestline's other walks came in the third and sixth innings.
Smith's one-hitter eclipsed a solid pitching effort by Crestline's Natalie Sayre, who fanned 14 and scattered four hits and five walks.
Buckettes turn back Ontario
NEW WASHINGTON - Maddie Ehresman and Kendra Schultz both doubled and scored and two teammates each lined three hits Friday in Buckeye Central's 6-5 North Central Conference win over Ontario.
Ontario scored twice in the top of the fifth for a 4-2 lead, but the Buckettes plated four in the sixth and survived a rally in the seventh for the victory.
Ehresman added a single and two RBIs for the Buckettes (10-5, 3-3 NCC) and Schultz knocked in a run.
Taylor Hanes (run, RBI) and Makayla Stover both belted three singles and Kelley Redmon scored twice and singled.
Kristine Bibb (2-0) earned the win.
Mattix-led Rams cruise
UPPER SANDUSKY - Justin Mattix kept Crestline's bats in check and drove in a pair of runs Friday in Upper Sandusky's 10-0 North Central Conference win.
Mattix (2-2) fanned seven and scattered four hits and a walk in the six-inning affair for the Rams (5-8, 3-2 NCC).
Alec Oney and Cameron Crawford also each knocked in a pair, with Oney hitting two singles and Crawford doubling. Adam Duress added a triple and RBI and Garrett Huston had a triple, single and RBI.
Bucks can't stop Ontario's streak
NEW WASHINGTON - Unbeaten Ontario took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and kept Buckeye Central at bay from there Friday in a 3-1 North Central Conference victory.
The Bucks (12-4, 4-2 NCC) got their lone run in the first when Tyler Erwin doubled and scored on Jacob Zeiter's single.
Buckeye Central managed just three other hits against the Warriors (16-0, 6-0), who tacked on an insurance run in the seventh.
Flyers shut out FHS
FOSTORIA - Lake kept churning out the runs and Fostoria didn't have an answer as the Flyers coasted to an 11-0 Northern Buckeye Conference win Friday.
The Flyers (11-4, 3-1 NBC) scored two runs in the first, third, fourth and seventh innings and added four in the fifth.
Anthony Dean suffered the loss for the Redmen, with three of the nine runs he allowed being unearned. Fostoria had three errors.
Chris Hampton singled twice for FHS (6-9, 2-3).
