Sylvester F. "Zip" Schoen, 79, of Bellevue died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 21, 1932, in Reed, to Henry and Gertrude (Hossman) Schoen. He married Mary Ann Zipfel July 21, 1956, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Norwalk.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Schoen of Bellevue; two sons, Paul (Kay) Schoen of Bellevue and David (Amy) Schoen of Powell; two daughters, Linda (Nicholas) Valentine of Wadsworth and Kathy (Fred) Herold of Lima; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Agnes Holmer of Reed and Theresa Ann Elmlinger of Bismark.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Leo Urban, Joseph, Earl and Henry Schoen; and four sisters, Edith Swope, Rosemary Holmer, Mildred Holmer and Sister Mary Edith.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where a wake service will be at 3 p.m.
His funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
