A 25-year-old Fostoria woman accused of abusing a child pleaded guilty to two counts of child endangering Monday.

According to a release from Seneca County Prosecutor Derek DeVine, Tellina Tenney pleaded guilty to two counts of child endangering for her role in the abuse of a 22-month-old child in her home in Pelton's Mobile Home Park in July.

DeVine said the child suffered serious physical harm.

She had a burn from her breastbone to her feet that occurred when she was dipped in hot water in a bathtub, he said.

"She was battered and bruised," he said.

The child was treated at Fostoria Community Hospital and then was transferred to The Toledo Hospital, according to the release.

Officials don't know why she was dipped in hot water in a bathtub, DeVine said.

"There's no reasonable explanation for that," he said.

DeVine said Tenney was the girlfriend of Randall Dailey, who was married to the child's mother.

Officials now know he is not the child's father, he said.

"(Tenney) has no legal relationship with the child," he said.

DeVine said Dailey will face criminal charges for his role in the abuse, although he had not been charged as of Monday.

Officials have believed Tenney was the person who abused the child, and Dailey was neglectful in not getting the child help once she was hurt, he said.

The abuse started on a Friday, but the child did not get to a hospital until two days later, he said.

The release states Judge Steve Shuff of Seneca County Common Pleas Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation. Tenney faces up to 16 years in prison.

DeVine said he did not expect Tenney to plead guilty Monday.

"I was fully prepared for a jury trial," he said.
