The Advertiser-Tribune

Staff Sgt. Chad Acton, 27, a McCutchenville native, is suspended on a rope during Best Ranger Competition this weekend in Fort Benning, Ga. His competition partner, Staff Sgt. Raymond Santiago, waits his turn. Acton and Santiago placed second in the field of about 50 teams. The competition includes running, marksmanship skills tests, weapons assembly, rope climbing and rappelling, a night land navigation, an obstacle course, a mile buddy run and more. Acton graduated from Mohawk High School and joined the Army in 2002.
