HAMLER - Hopewell-Loudon's Logan Sendelbach was on the top of his game against Patrick Henry. That didn't bode well for the Patriots, because when Sendelbach is at the top of his game, he can be un-hittable. In fact, he was un-hittable. The Chieftain senior struck out 12 Patriot batters, tossing a no-hitter in a 7-0 Hopewell-Loudon win in the first game of a doubleheader.
Three walks was all the offense Patrick Henry could muster off Sendelbach.
Sendelbach didn't need much offensive support, but Alex Ratchen and Tyler Tyree gave him more than enough. Ratchen knocked four hits including a home run and two doubles as he drove in four run. Tyree added a home run of his own as he drove in two and scored three times.
Austin Harrison added two hits, an RBI and two runs.
Patrick Henry rallied back to take the second game, handing Hopewell-Loudon its first loss of the season. The Chieftains held a 3-2 lead going into the bottom of the sixth, when the Patriots erupted for seven runs. The game was then called due to rain, giving Patrick Henry the 9-3 win.
Sendelbach starred at the plate for H-L (11-1) in the game. He had two hits with a home run, driving in two and scoring twice. Tyree also had an RBI. Ratchen and Jordan Reinhart had base hits.
