Tigers surge past Tornadoes

Samantha Walker drilled a three-run homer and Kristen Bowerman added a double and two RBIs Friday as Seneca East stormed past Columbian 6-2.

Columbian snapped a scoreless tie with two runs in the first inning, but never scored again.

The Tigers used three-run bursts in the third and fourth innings to take control and get Rachel Bauman the win.

Holly Bordner went 3 for 4 with two runs for Seneca East, Walker added another run, Bauman doubled and Lauren Sprenger scored twice and singled.

Valesha Province doubled for the Tornadoes (1-10), Julie Funk singled twice and losing pitcher Paige Correll had a single, run and RBI.

BC's Wurm shuts down Galion?NEW WASHINGTON - Morgan Wurm scattered eight hits, held Galion to just one run, and helped Buckeye Central to its first North Central Conference win.

Wurm went all seven innings in the Buckettes' 4-1 victory over the Tigers. She struck out six and walked one.

Brooke Myers led BC (6-4, 1-2 NBC) with two hits and three RBIs. Kendra Schultz scored twice for the Buckettes.

Brittany Smith had three hits for Galion.

Rams run over Riverdale

MOUNT BLANCHARD - Savannah Piecha scored four times and was one of six Upper Sandusky players who lined more than one hit Friday in a 19-7 North Central Conference win over Riverdale.

Piecha singled twice and stole four bases for the Rams (6-4, 3-0 MAL), Brigitte Snow scored three runs and belted two triples and a single and Teahl Rice had two singles, a double and two runs.

Tiffany Towns chipped in a double, single and two runs, Amber Cox had three runs and two doubles, Paige Perry singled twice, and Maranda Stansbery and Katie Taylor both scored twice and singled.

Allie Smith (6-4) earned the win.

Knights rule Fostoria Redmen

FOSTORIA - Fostoria was defeated by Otsego, 6-3.

Savannah Schwind and Tayler Bowen's two runs each lead the Knights to victory. Kylie Asmus, the winning pitcher, added a double.

Fostoria's losing pitcher was Casey Babb, who contributed a run to the Redmen's attack. Ashlyn Roberts and Jada Hampton each had a run of their own for Fostoria (3-7, 1-1 Northern Buckeye Conference).

Warriors defeat Colonel Crawford

ASHLAND - Kasey Adelsperger hit a homer as Mohawk (5-1) took an 8-2 victory over Colonel Crawford.

Sarah Runion added two runs for the Warriors, along with Molli Cartwright to take the win.

Colonel Crawford's (9-2) Kellie Mac singled and scored.
