SANDUSKY - Columbian is entrenching itself in the top of the Northern Ohio League following an 8-3 victory at Sandusky. The Tornadoes are now 7-2, and a perfect 4-0 in the league.

Columbian spotted Sandusky the game's first three runs, but then posted eight unanswered, starting with a three-run third inning.

Daniel Wood got the win pitching a complete game. Wood allowed just five hits, two earned runs while striking out nine.

At the plate, Tyler Fuhrer homered, doubled and drove in two runs. Carter Mullins also picked up a pair of RBIs. Jonah Boyer, Nick Loura, Mike Rohrbach and Logan Tracy all drove in runs. Boyer, Rohrbach and Vince Anway all had two-hit afternoons.

H-L wipes out Panthers

BASCOM - Hopewell-Loudon scored seven runs in the first inning, five in the second, and that was more than enough to topple McComb Thursday.

Tyler Tyree had two hits and three RBIs, Jordan Reinhart had three hits and three RBIs, and the Chieftains improved to 10-0 by plowing through the Panthers, 14-1.

Eric Tanner, who scored twice, allowed one run on two hits on the mound, striking out three and walking one. He improved to 3-0 on the season.

H-L had 11 hits, all singles.

Six-run first leads BC

NORTH ROBINSON - Buckeye Central began its game against Colonel Crawford with a six-run first inning. The Eagles attempted to claw back into the game, but the Bucks posted five more in the third, taking a 12-6 lead, before going on to a 15-8 victory.

Jacob Zeiter picked up his first win of the year on the mound, striking out five in five innings.

Zeiter helped his own cause with a two doubles and three RBIs. Thomas Kaple also drove in three runs. Tyler Erwin, Chase Finney and Bryce Christy each added a pair of RBIs. Justin Miller also drove in a run.

Adam Paynter and Justin Herrnstein each tripled while Erwin doubled.

The Bucks improved to 8-2, 2-0 North Central Conference.

Reinhart drives in four to lead Jackets

NEW RIEGEL - Brandyn Reinhart had three hits, scored once and drove in four runs, leading New Riegel to an 8-6 win over visiting Cory-Rawson.

Jake Dryfuse picked up the win for the Blue Jackets, going six innings and allowing six runs on four hits. He walked nine batters and struck out 10. Four of the runs he allowed were earned. Dryfuse improved to 2-0.

Aaron Reinhart drove in two runs for the Blue Jackets, who improved to 5-4.
