FOSTORIA - Ashley Cooper belted a homer as part of a 3-for-4 day and Brooke Weinandy launched a solo shot as Mohawk blanked St. Wendelin 6-0 in Wednesday's Midland Athletic League game.
Cooper also doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Warriors (4-1, 1-1 MAL), who rapped 10 hits.
That was plenty for Kasey Adelsperger, who struck out 12 and gave up one walk and two hits to get the win.
Dani Tyree added two runs, a triple and single, Nikki Kieffer lined three singles and Sarah Runion tripled.
Redmen open NBC in win column
GENOA - Fostoria lost the lead in the bottom of the seventh, but rallied in the eighth Wednesday to double up Genoa 4-2 in the Redmen's first Northern Buckeye Conference game.

The Redmen (3-6) took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Comets countered with a pair of runs in the seventh to keep the game going.
Fostoria answered right back.
Casey Babb drew a walk, went to third on Karlee Grine's one-out double and scored on a two-out single by Brittany Loomis. Grine later scored when Claire Myers reached on an error.
Babb went the distance for the win, fanning six, walking one and allowing three hits and one earned run.
Grine ended 3 for 4 and Ashlyn Roberts and Alexus Smith both doubled.
Payton Wolfe doubled for the Comets. Mackenzie Hoyles took the loss.
Mathias, Arbogast each drive in 3 in NR victory
NEW RIEGEL - Megan Mathias and Taylor Arbogast drove in three runs each, and New Riegel scored seven unanswered runs to top Carey, 9-4.
Arbogast went 3 for 3 at the plate scoring three runs and stealing a pair of bases. Mathias went 2 for 2 with a stolen base.
New Riegel's Morgan Noftz also had a big day, with three hits, two runs scored, two stolen bases and an RBI.
Taylor Kirian gave up all four runs, but only one of them was earned. She gave up eight hits, struck out five and walked two. She improved to 8-1. New Riegel moved to 8-1, 3-0 in the Midland Athletic League.
Carey (5-7, 1-2) led 4-2 going to the bottom of the fourth, but NR hitters got to starter Ali Rymer, who took the loss.
Rymer went six innings, giving up 12 hits and eight earned runs. She dropped to 4-5, striking out two.
Makenzie Wentling and Hannah Draper each had two hits for the Blue Devils.
Tigers vault above .500
NORTH BALTIMORE - Caitlyn Sours scored twice and drove in two runs Wednesday as Seneca East roughed up North Baltimore 10-2 in Midland Athletic League play.
Sours doubled for the visiting Tigers (6-5, 3-0 MAL), who broke free for a 5-1 lead with three runs in the fourth inning.
Kristen Bowerman, Jess Enders (RBI) and winning pitcher Rachel Bauman each singled twice and scored for Seneca East.
Wild night for Lakota, H-L
KANSAS - A wild game ended in a wild way. Lakota took a 7-5 lead over Hopewell-Loudon with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Chieftains rallied to tie the game with two in the top of the seventh.
However, in the bottom of the frame, Lakota (8-2, 2-0 MAL) scored the game-winning run off of a wild pitch, claiming an 8-7 victory.
Kaitlyn Baumer picked up the win in the circle, pitching a complete game, striking out eight and allowing seven runs, four earned.
Jessica Hoffman, Morgan Gangwer and Alaina Bickford each went 2 for 4 for the Raiders. Hoffman homered, doubled and drove in two runs while Bickford doubled and picked up an RBI. Sierra Ray had a hit and two RBIs.
For Hopewell-Loudon (5-6, 1-2), Lauren Trumpler had two hits with a home run. Abby Park doubled.
Garverick carves up BC hitters
NEW WASHINGTON - Nikayla Garverick dominated Buckeye Central hitters, and Colonel Crawford got all its runs in the first two innings as it shut out Buckeye Central, 4-0.
Garverick allowed the Buckettes just three hits. All were singles, and all were by Maddie Ehresman. The Eagles starter didn't walk a batter and struck out eight.
Morgan Wurm was in the circle for Buckeye Central, and did reasonably well, pitching five scoreless innings to close out the ballgame and striking out nine while walking two. But she allowed nine hits.
Katie McLaughlin paced the Eagles offense with three hits, two of them doubles. She drove in a run and scored a run. Krista Horning scored twice, doubled and drove in a run.
Colonel Crawford improved to 7-1, Buckeye Central fell to 5-3. The game was the North Central Conference opener for both teams.
Wurm took the loss, falling to 3-2.
St. Joe hammers Calvert
Fremont St. Joe punished Calvert pitching Wednesday on the way to a 21-3 Midland Athletic League win.
The Crimson Streaks (5-3, 2-0 MAL) vaulted out to a 10-0 lead before Calvert scored twice in the bottom of the third inning, and later pounded out 10 runs in the sixth.
Winning pitcher Be Reardon went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and two doubles, Kristin Sessler had a 4-for-4 day with a double and four RBIs and Ashley Burns knocked in three runs with a homer and single.
Amanda Binder chased in two runs with a double and single, Jensen LeJeune doubled and Katie Stroup lined two singles.
Haley Steiner took the loss for the Senecas.
