Marie T. Collet, 105, of Carey, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
She was born Dec. 5, 1906, in Wyandot County, the daughter of the late Carl J. and Philomena (Kuntz) Dirmeyer. Marie married Edward W. Collet Aug. 19, 1926, in Waterloo, Ind., and he preceded her in death April 7, 1973.
She is survived by two sons, Carl E. (Mary Louise "Booty") Collet of Adrian and Donald R. (Beatrice) Collet of Perrysburg; one daughter, Marilyn Pahl of Bowling Green; daughter-in-law, Charlene Collet; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by two sons, James and Louis Collet; a granddaughter, Patty Klag; two great-grandsons, Preston Pahl and Adam Collet; a son-in-law, Sam Pahl; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Collet; and grandson-in-law, Keith Sibbersen.
She retired as postmaster in Adrian after 22 years. Marie was a member of Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and past president of Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was a member of the Secular Franciscans and St. Francis Auxiliary at the St. Francis Home, Tiffin. She was the president of the Resident Council of Wyandot County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Marie made hundreds of afghans, one for each of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also made quilts for each of her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with a rosary service at 7:45 p.m.
Her Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, with the Rev. John Stowe OFM Conv. officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Carey.
