April 12, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

More than 30 school bands, choirs, vocal jazz groups and pop

a cappella groups are to participate in the ProMusic Festival today and Friday at The Ritz Theatre.

Staged by the music department of Tiffin University, the two-day event includes evening concerts by professional artists.

This evening, the Denver-based Euforquestra performs at 7:30 p.m. This seven-member group plays "high intensity global dance music," according to a news release.

With three full-length albums and a tour schedule of more than 110 shows annually, Euforquestra has become one of the hottest bands on the music festival circuit, the release states.

TU groups Sound and Silence and The InBetween also are to perform during the concert.

Friday at 7:30 p.m., the vocal group M-PACT returns to Tiffin to showcase its new lineup and music.

The six-man vocal group performs a range of pop and jazz tunes, with voices as the only instruments. The group has appeared with numerous big-name artists and its signature sound has been used in the sound tracks of television programs and films, the release states.

TU's a cappella groups Up in the Air and Higher Ground are to share the stage with M-PACT.

Daytime performances both days are free. Student tickets for evening concerts are available in advance for $5.

Tickets at the door will be $10 today and $12 Friday.
