Burl W. Barker, 89, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Phoenix, Ariz.
Burl was born June 17,1922, in Rock Camp, W.Va. He was a vocational agriculture and science teacher in Attica, Genoa, Harris-Elmore and Gibsonburg from 1948-1985. After retiring from teaching, Burl spent 26 winters in Arizona. Burl and his wife loved to travel, and visited all 50 states. He enjoyed golfing, playing courses from Sugar Creek to St. Andrews.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis Close Barker.
A celebration of Burl's life will take place June 17, 2012, in Elmore.
