A man was taken by Life Flight to a Toledo hospital after he sustained serious injuries in an accident involving farm equipment in Adams Township Saturday afternoon.

According to a release from State Highway Patrol, William M. Frankart, 41, of Clyde, was driving a Terra-Gator fertilizer spreader southbound on CR 21 when it traveled off the left side of the roadway and then re-entered the roadway. The spreader overturned and came to rest on its left side in the roadway, it states.

Frankart sustained serious injuries, according to the release. He was transported by Green Springs EMS to The Bellevue Hospital and then was taken by Life Flight to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

His condition was not available Sunday evening.

Also assisting at the scene of the accident, which occurred around 3:50 p.m. Saturday, were personnel from Green Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Seneca County Sheriff's Office.

Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash, according to the release.

A State Highway Patrol spokesman said the accident remained under investigation Sunday evening.
