ATTICA - Seneca East's boys and Carey girls each posted dominating victories at a quad-meet at Seneca East.
The Tiger boys ran away with first place, finished with 166 points, 99 clear of second place Carey (66 ). New Riegel was third with 27 , followed by Mansfield St. Peter with five.
Seneca East won 14 of the 18 events, with Carey taking the other four. The Tigers took 3 out of the 4 relays, winning the 4x200 (1:39.1), 4x400 (3:46.7) and 4x800 (8:48.3). Carey won the 4x100 in 46.7.
Individually for Seneca East, Nick Hughes and Jamie Schafer each picked up two wins. Hughes won the 100-meter dash (11.8) and the 300 hurdles (41.4). Schafer took the 400-meter dash (53.6) and the discus (127-9). Also picked up firsts for the Tigers were Kevin Moore in the 110 hurdles (15.0), Jared Stockmaster in the 1,600 (5:05), Jeff Briggs in the 800 (2:11.6), Isaac Phillips in the 200-meter dash (24.4), Wes Pipher in the 3,200 (10:50), Jake Michaels in the shot put (46-2) and Aaron Strasbaugh in the triple jump (38-8).
Carey's Cory Larick picked up a pair of firsts winning the pole vault (14 feet) and the long jump (19-1). Tommy Arredondo won the high jump (5-10).
The top finish for New Riegel came from Ryan Schalk, who took second in the 200 (24.9).
On the girls side, Carey beat out Seneca East 131-87, due in part to the Blue Devils sweeping the four relay events. New Riegel was again third (29) followed by St. Peter (16).
Individually, Carey picked up firsts from Oriana Billock in t00 hurdles (18.0), Gwen Wentling in the 400-meter dash (65.9), Jackie Troiano in the 800 (2:51.8), Dana Newell in the high jump (5 feet), Christy Wickiser in the pole vault (8 feet) and Taylor Decker in the discus (122-10).
Seneca East's Megan Felter had a pair of firsts, winning the triple jump (30-2) and the long jump (15-1 ). Ashton Daniel won the shot put (36-11) and Marissa Willman won the 300 hurdles (53.1).
New Riegel got a pair of firsts from Abby Cassidy in the distance races. Cassidy took first in the 1,600 (6:07.2) and the 3,200 (13:42.7).
Bellevue runs past Columbian
BELLEVUE - Bellevue swept Columbian Tuesday in a dual meet. The Redmen boys beat Columbian 79-58 while the girls edged out the Tornadoes 70 -66 .
For the TC girls, Brittany Flint picked up a first and two second-place finishes in field events. She won the shot put throwing 30-9 . She took second in the long jump (15-1/4) and high jump (4-8).
Autumn Nichols ran Columbian to three firsts. She won the 300 hurdles (45.8) and 200-meter dash (26.8). She also teamed with Anna Williams, Annie Demith and Tori Stephens to take first in the 4x400 (4:18).
Williams, Demith and Stephens teamed with Michaela Sharlow for first in the 4x200 (1:52), while Stephens, Sharlow, Demith and McKenna Theis took first in the 4x100 (53.1).
Also taking firsts for Columbian were Hanna Musil in the 800 (2:39.he 135) and Kali Fittro in the 3,200 (13:20.0).
For the boys, Josh Flint swept the jumping events. He cleared 5-10 for first in the high jump and went 18-10 in the long jump. Also on the field side, Kyle Thom took first in the shot put (43-10 ).
In running events, Robbie Traunero won the 300 hurdles (41.8), Tyler Lewis won the 800 (2:17.4) and Kyler Lange took the 3,200 (10:46.9).
Tranero, Jordan Dye, Billy Roe and Kordell Hunt teamed for first in the 4x400.
