Woodland legacy planning workshop set in Findlay

March 23, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

FINDLAY - Northwest Ohio Woodland Owners are hosting a Legacy Planning Workshop 9:30 a.m.-noon March 31 at Findlay Country Club to outline guidelines for woodland owners, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry.

"Passing farms and woodlands on to family members is a major landowner concern, especially for the baby boom generation," said Robert Boyles, chief of ODNR's Division of Forestry. "Estate planning is important to consider for protecting your land, learning about estate taxes and maintaining a legacy for future generations."

Thomas Weber Jr., financial executive of Pinnaclesource Financial Solutions, and John Koehler, attorney with Eastman & Smith Ltd., are to present the workshop. Weber also is a woodland owner in Hancock County.

The Northwest Ohio Woodland Owners recently joined with interested landowners from 20 northwest Ohio counties to network, host workshops and promote forest stewardship throughout Ohio.

The workshop is free. RSVP by calling (419) 424-5004.
