Thirty-eight firefighters responded to an early morning fire in McCutchenville Thursday.
Gary Parker, owner of the barn, shed and workshop that burned at 8586 SR 53, said he got a knock on his door at about 5:25 a.m. informing him of the fire.
Parker said the barn held hay, straw, a couple of steers and cows. The animals were saved and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters from McCutchenville, Sycamore, Bascom and Upper Sandusky fire departments and NBS fire district fought the blaze.
The barn, was engulfed fully when firefighters arrived.
B.J. Ford, assistant chief for McCutchenville fire department, said the fire lasted for roughly three to four hours.
Don Shellhouse, chief for McCutchenville, said all firefighters could do was protect the house and contain the fire.
The Ohio Department of Transportation closed SR 53 from SR 587 to CR 26 for two hours for the safety of drivers. The road was reopened at 7:56 a.m.
Shellhouse said the fire marshall determined the cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
