Robert N. Miller, 94, of Upper Sandusky, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012, at Fairhaven Retirement and Healthcare Community in Upper Sandusky.
Bob was born Aug. 31, 1917, in Upper Sandusky, to Harry and Eva (Smith) Miller, both of whom are deceased.
He is survived by a brother, David (Alice) Miller, and a sister, Marjorie Blair, both of Upper Sandusky. Bob also is survived by two nieces, Melanie (Ted) Dillion of Cincinnati and Karen (Jeff) Pryor of Upper Sandusky, and two nephews, Larry Miller of Upper Sandusky and Gary Longstreth of Dublin, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Harry Miller, and two sisters, Jane Longstreth and Mary Weaver.
Bob was retired after many years as a mechanic, having worked for the following Ford dealerships: Ellis Ford, Grundtisch Ford and Eippert Ford, all located in Upper Sandusky.
He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, having served in two major engagements in the Western Pacific Theater.
Bob was a 1936 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, a life member of American Legion Post No. 225 and BPOE No. 83 For hobbies, he enjoyed being outside and tending to his tomatoes, and also going for his daily walk throughout Upper Sandusky.
Funeral services for Robert N. Miller will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Ben Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by Upper Sandusky Color Guard.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
