By Dan McElhatten - Correspondent , The Advertiser-Tribune

SYCAMORE - Fostoria resident Zachary Stumpf was selected as the newest member of the Sycamore police department and was sworn in at Sycamore's village council meeting Tuesday night by Mayor Matthew Boucher.

Stumpf also serves as a part-time officer with Republic and a dispatcher with the Fostoria police department.

Council approved amending minutes from the last meeting to include Boucher requesting council approve travel expenses for training. Also approved for reimbursement were receipts from fire chief Bryan Clouse minus some expenses council needs more information on.

Village administrator Charles Clark announced the upcoming retirement of long-time utility clerk Sandy Lust. She plans to leave at the end of April. Clark also recommended prices be sought for street projects for 2012, including East Third Street, East Eighth Street and a portion of Fifth Street.

Council is to meet at 7:30 pm March 27 at village hall.
