Margaret S. Patterson

Margaret S. Patterson, 85, of North Syracuse, N.Y., since 1953, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, in Syracuse. A native of Tiffin, she had wintered, in retirement, in Panama City Beach, Fla. In 1985, she retired from the bursar's office of LeMoyne College, Syracuse.

She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima, a poll watcher and elections inspector, an avid bridge player, an excellent seamstress, knitter and reader. Margaret was a positive, upbeat person who enjoyed life and particularly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Bess Fisher Schauder; her sister, Miriam Roof; and her husband, John D. Patterson.

Surviving are four children, Ruth (James) Shirley of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Kathleen (David) Fuller of Jensen Beach, Fla., John Michael Patterson of North Syracuse, N.Y., and Eileen (Stephen) Snook of LaGrangeville, N.Y.; three siblings, Edward Schauder, Norma Riepenhoff and Chuck (Mertie) Schauder, all of Ohio; brother-in-law, Floyd Roof of Ohio; five grandchildren, Rachel (Andrew) Lacourciere, Louis Shirley, Cheri Fuller, Michael Snook and Nicole Snook; three great-grandchildren, Hailey Belmont, Jacques Lacourciere and Katerine Lacourciere; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are Monday, March 12, 2012, at Fergerson Funeral Home and St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. Friends may call Sunday 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home, 215 S Main St., North Syracuse, NY.

Donations may be made in lieu of flowers, to the American Lung Association, 155 Washington Ave., Suite 210, Albany, NY 12210.
