Items are being collected for a Flat Rock family whose house was destroyed by a fire Sunday evening.
The fire, reported at 7816 CR 29, originated in the kitchen of the two-story house and mostly gutted the first floor. It also caused severe smoke and water damage to the rest of the house and the items inside.
The tenants, Misty Oddo, 26, her fianc Jonathan Guhn and three children, who are ages 6, 4 and 1, were able to get out of the residence and have a neighbor call 911.
The family is staying at a hotel in Clyde and then will be staying with a relative for an additional week while they look for another rental.
Items requested include dishes, silverware and other kitchen items, bathroom goods, furniture and appliances. A laptop computer also was lost in the fire and Oddo is seeking one to help with her college courses.
Those interested in donating items can call (419) 650-0384 or (567) 214-4033.
An account also has been set up for the family at Fireland's Federal Credit Union under The Oddo Guhn Family Benefit. The bank is at 221 E. Main St., Bellevue.
