Bloomville council members asked to generate questions about wind turbines

BLOOMVILLE - Plans fell through for the village council to have a conference call with Genex during its Wednesday night meeting to discuss energy-generating wind turbines. Councilwoman Carol Adams asked members to generate questions they would like to have addressed.

Councilman Tracy Meadows questioned the amount of land required for turbines, while others were concerned about spending funds without a future certainty of energy savings. At the urging of council, Adams is to contact people in the village of Waynesfield for input, as that locale's size correlates with Bloomville.

Part-time clerk Amy Alt informed council she is resigning effective the end of February, with interviews for a replacement to be scheduled in March. Adams expressed a preference for having the village office open Monday through Friday. The office may be closed Fridays on a temporary basis during the training period.

Council also heard:

Village pool work has been completed by Patterson Pools.

Darren Tobolt contacted to repair coping.

John Davoli of North Central Ohio Council of Governments is to attend March 6 meeting to discuss benefits and answer questions.

Applications are to be accepted for a pool manager position. Family rates and pool passes are to be discussed further.
