Dana J. Fretz, 87, of Tiffin and formerly Bloomville, died Monday evening, Feb. 13, 2012, at Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.
She was born June 14, 1924, Liberty Twp., Seneca County, to Orley C. and Maudie (Hoke) Hemminger. She married Robert Fretz Sr. June 17, 1944, in Republic, and he died June 26, 1986.
Survivors include a son, Robert Fretz Jr. of Tiffin; a daughter, DeJane Spencer of Wooster; two grandchildren, Lisa Jett of Wooster and Jeremy Jett of Sandusky; two great-grandchildren, De Von Jones and Madison Jett; three brothers, George (Edith) Hemminger of Republic, Larry Hemminger of Mansfield and Daryl (Judy) Hemminger of Avon; and five sisters, Oral Kirby and Betty Paul of Tiffin, Mary Lou Neikirk of Republic, Xenith (George) Allgyre of Fostoria and Betty Rhoad of Kodak, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donald Hemminger; a sister, Lelah Daniel; and a great-grandchild, Loreal Jones.
Dana worked for many years as a waitress at Truck Haven Restaurant, Bloomville.
She was a member of Bloomville United Methodist Church, charter member of the Modern Mothers and the Bloomville Lioness Club, Caulfield American Legion Post No. 434 Ladies Auxiliary Bloomville, charter member of the Sub Vets Wives of World War II, a 1942 graduate of Bloomville High School and enjoyed bowling for more than 32 years.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with Pastor Darla Metz officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
