ARCADIA - As post-season tuneups go, this one had Arcadia chugging right along.

Miranda Palmer drilled a 3-pointer just before the first quarter buzzer for a 14-10 lead, Courtney Cramer added two more as part of Arcadia's 14-4 scoring run in the second and the pair combined for 43 points Tuesday as the Redskins thundered past New Riegel 59-37 in a battle of state-ranked teams.

Palmer and Cramer both had a trio of 3-pointers, with Palmer leading everyone with 26 points and Cramer backing her with 17 for the Redskins (18-2).

Palmer also tallied six steals and four assists for Arcadia, which entered ranked ninth in Division IV.

The Blue Jackets (16-3), ranked fifth in Division IV, got 10 points each from sisters Brooke and Kara Scherger.

Lauren Ladd added seven points, and Taylor Arbogast and Brooke Scherger each grabbed six rebounds.

1-2 punch swats Hornets

FOSTORIA - Colleen Fondessy and Ali Mowery combined for 26 points and 22 rebounds and St. Wendelin pulled away in the second half Tuesday to thump Cory-Rawson 53-34.

The Mohawks (10-9) extended a 17-15 halftime lead to 37-31 by the end of the third quarter before rolling away with a 20-3 surge in the fourth.

Fondessy provided 17 points, 10 boards and three steals and Mowery had nine points and 12 rebounds.

Heather Saalman also scored 17 points, and added four steals.

Kiley Scott's 15 points topped the Hornets (5-14). Courtney Dulle had 10 points and three assists.

Free throw woes can't stop Plymouth

ATTICA - Plymouth struggled through a 4-of-16 showing at the line, but the Big Red made enough when it counted most Tuesday to clip Seneca East 44-42.

A 3-of-6 showing in the final period let Plymouth outscore the Tigers 17-11 to claim the win.

Ashton Daniel's 15 points and eight rebounds led Seneca East (6-13). Emily Depinet netted 11 points and Lauren Sprenger had nine.
