Commissioners to consider demolition extension

January 31, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

Seneca County commissioners are to discuss a letter requesting an extension for demolition of the 1884 courthouse during a meeting at 10 a.m. today.

In old business, commissioners are to discuss a letter requesting a 30-day extension from B&B Wrecking and Excavating of Cleveland for the courthouse. The letter requests the extension because of delays due to the year-end holidays and breakdown of the company's crane.

In other news, the board is to meet with representatives of Squires Sanders and RBC to discuss financing options for ongoing and new capital projects. County Administrator Stacy Wilson said some projects that might be discussed include a new courthouse structure, the planned energy savings program and the juvenile detention center.

Also, commissioners are to open bids for the Bascom Wastewater Collection and Treatment System.

In new business, the commissioners are to consider:

A supplemental appropriation of $3.6 million for the Youth Center Construction Fund.

A supplemental appropriation of $3,500 for the Dog and Kennel Fund.

A supplemental appropriation of $4,010 for the General Fund.

A resolution amending the board's orders of Dec. 29, 2011, concerning the appropriation for the Emergency Management Agency Fund.

A resolution rescinding the board's orders of Jan. 23, concerning a supplement to the permanent appropriation within the Recovery Act Rural Law Enforcement Assistance Fund.

A resolution approving the completed Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy.

A resolution authorizing an agreement with Ohio Department of Transportation for resurfacing various county roads.

A resolution setting the time, date and place to receive sealed bids for a fire detection and alarm system for the Sheriff's Office

A resolution redirecting a rental and lease portion of a revenue line from General Fund to Capital Projects Fund.

A resolution setting time, date and place to receive sealed bids for the Home Sewage Treatment System soil evaluation and system design portion of the WPCLF HSTS program.

A resolution setting time, date and place to receive sealed bids for a Turtle Top Vanterra XLT passenger van on behalf of the Seneca County Veterans Services Commission.

Bill vouchers.
