Heidelberg University is to host a William Stafford Birthday Celebration 5-7 p.m. Jan. 19 in Herbster Chapel on the campus. Poetry lovers are invited to attend as the American poet's work is shared and his belief in the ultimate goodness of humanity and nature is remembered.
The schedule is to include a welcome and remarks by Heidelberg University President Rob Huntington, along with readings of favorite Stafford poems by Heidelberg students, staff and faculty. A special feature will be Heidelberg student contest winners reading original Stafford-themed poems. The event will conclude with an open microphone session.
The event is free and open to Tiffin and Seneca County communities. Refreshments will be served.
