Ronald L. Shireman, 62, of Clyde, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at University of Toledo Medical Center.
Ron was born Oct. 6, 1949, in Tiffin, to Calvin and Kathleen (Krupp) Shireman. He graduated from Old Fort High School in 1968 and worked at Whirlpool Corp for 37 years, retiring in 2008.
Ron was a member of Clyde Moose, where he had served as governor. He was also a member of both Clyde and Green Springs VFW. From 1968 to 1994, he served on the Old Fort Volunteer Fire Department.
He married Connie (Estep) March 4, 1995, and she survives. Also surviving are his mother, Kathleen Shireman of Green Springs; two children, Jody (Jen Mintz) Shireman and Jeff (Amy) Shireman, both of Tiffin; two stepdaughters, Kelly Steele and Angela Smith, both of Clyde; a grandson, Jacob Shireman; two stepgrandchildren, Christopher Steele and Cadee Estep; and four siblings, Steve (Karen) Shireman of Old Fort, Debra (Kevin) Ryman of Tiffin, Sharon (Greg) Miller of Bettsville and Lisa (Mark) Hickle of Tiffin.
Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, OH 43410, (419) 547-9451. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.
His funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at the funeral home.
