A son, Wyatt Gabryel-George Smith, was born Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, to Monica Kern and Tyler Smith of Republic. Wyatt weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces, and measured 20 inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Mary Geyer of Republic and William Kern of Deshler.
