Even three officers short, the Bloomville Police Department is continuing to operate at normal staffing, the chief said.
Bloomville Police Chief Howard Minzer said six officers - more than enough - are left following termination of police officer William Lottery at a council meeting last week. Also at that meeting, officers Chris Shoup and Damien Hill resigned.
Minzer said the matter involving the termination was forwarded to the Seneca County Sheriff's Office for investigation. He declined to comment further.
Bloomville Mayor Barbara Jacoby also declined to comment on the matter.
Last week, village solicitor Tim Hoover advised officials not to comment.
Seneca County Sheriff Bill Eckelberry said last week the investigation is ongoing and the matter could be sent to the Seneca County prosecutor within the next couple of weeks. He declined to comment further.
Council is to meet next at 7 p.m. Dec. 7.
