Junior fair members who are planning to exhibit market steers, market heifers and/or dairy steers at the 2012 Seneca County Junior Fair shows need to have the animals nose-printed and weighed.
Members should bring their cattle to the draft horse barn at the fairgrounds Dec. 3. Nose-printing and weigh-in is scheduled for 8-10:30 a.m. The snow date is Dec. 10, at the same place and time.
Members are asked to have a halter on the animals during the nose-printing and weigh-in. Even though four animals may nose-printed and weighed-in, exhibitors are allowed to show only three.
Also, junior fair exhibitors interested in showing at the Ohio State Fair must have the cattle nose-printed and have the nose-print cards signed by an Extension educator (if a 4-H project) or FFA adviser (if an FFA project). All nose-prints for cattle being exhibited at the Ohio State Fair are due Jan. 15. It is the exhibitor's responsibility to send the nose-print card(s) to Columbus. Send to: Ohio State Fair Livestock Office, 717 E. 17th Ave., Columbus, OH 43211.
