Old Fort voters should maintain tradition

November 3, 2011
The Advertiser-Tribune

In this general election, voters in the Old Fort Local School District are being asked to renew a 6.3-mill levy for five years into the future. And for a compelling reason to vote for the issue, district residents can look at five years in the past.

The Old Fort Local School District has earned an excellent-with-distinction rating from the State Board of Education - five years in a row.

The millage is to be used for operating expenses and permanent improvements. But when one considers the impact an excellent (with distinction!) school has on its students, it may be more accurate to say the funds will be used for the enrichment and enhancement of future generations.

We urge voters in the district to continue their tradition of excellence.
