Double-dip recession is deferred
We hope this isn't premature, but today we doff our cap, clutch it tightly to our chest and express gratitude for the local jobless rate -which fell for the second month in a row.
The 8.7 percent rate for Seneca County in September was better than the statewide average of 9.1 percent. Meanwhile, the U.S. gross domestic product rose at a 2.5 percent clip in the third quarter. Plus, stock prices rallied Thursday following a European Union deal meant to slash Greece's massive debt and prevent the crisis from spreading to other countries.
