To all the legislators who voted in support of SB5, which is now Issue 2 on the November ballot, I ask you the following:
Have you ever had to intervene in a domestic dispute, deal with drunk and disorderly people, aid in a drug bust, file assault charges or arrest an intoxicated driver?
Have you ever entered a burning home and saved the lives of all the residents trapped in the house?
Have you ever worked in a state facility taking care of profound developmentally disabled people, monitoring prisoners in a lockdown situation or attempting to educate youth who are sentenced to a youth services facility?
Have you ever been responsible for educating 24 first graders, prepare for five to seven separate courses of study each day, communicate with your students' parents or guardians after work hours and take additional college courses and/or continuing education classes in order to maintain your teaching license?
It's very easy to pass legislation that attacks the middle class. I proudly support the middle class heroes in our communities and I strongly encourage the voters in our communities to join me in voting NO on Issue 2.
