SYCAMORE - The 2011 Sycamore Village and Sycamore Township 1 Fund Drive is to kick-off today and culminate with a concert Oct. 29 in the American Legion Post 250 hall in Sycamore.
Volunteers are to be canvassing the area during that period. The fund drive, established in 1958, collected and distributed $8,180 to local organizations and charities last year.
Matt Walch is to perform a free concert Oct. 29, after the village Halloween parade, at the Legion hall. A resident of Edgartown, Mass., Walch has sung with the Tommy Dorsey
Orchestra and performed throughout the country in the big band genre.
The concert is sponsored by the First National Bank of Sycamore, McCutchenville and New Riegel. Limited seating is to be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
