Quiz Bowl teams compete

Seneca/Wyandot/Put-in-Bay/Sandusky Area High School Quiz Bowl League began its 2011-12 regular season play with matches at Put-in-Bay School, Calvert High School and Upper Sandusky High School.

This year, with the return of Mohawk High School to league play and the addition to the roster of Fremont Ross High School and North Central Academy, the league now is home to 17 teams with two full divisions, North and South.

After their first outing, Bridges Community Academy and Old Fort High School, both at 3-0, are at the top of the North division. Columbian and Clyde high schools are 2-1.

In the South division, there is a three-way tie at 3-0 among Carey, Hopewell-Loudon and Upper Sandusky high schools. Bettsville and Put-in-Bay high schools in the North division had one win each. In the South division, Calvert, Seneca East and St. Wendelin high schools came up with one win each.

The scores from September are Bettsville-North Central Academy, 70-15; Bridges-Bettsville, 95-70; Bridges-Clyde, 85-75; Bridges-Put-in-Bay, 125-55; Calvert-St. Wendelin, 90-80; Carey-Fostoria, 85-25; Carey-Mohawk, 115-15; Carey-New Riegel, 135-110; Clyde-Columbian, 200-130; Clyde-North Central, Academy, 150-45; Columbian-Bettsville, 205-10; Columbian-Put-in-Bay, 210-105; Hopewell-Loudon-Fostoria, 100-50; Hopewell-Loudon-Mohawk, 145-75; Hopewell-Loudon-New Riegel, 85-60; Old Fort-Calvert, 140-65; Old Fort-Seneca East, 170-30; Old Fort-St. Wendelin, 110-65; Put-in-Bay-North Central Academy, 120-30; Seneca East-Calvert, 85-50; St. Wendelin-Seneca East, 155-80; Upper Sandusky-Fostoria, 125-50; Upper Sandusky-Mohawk, 60-55; and Upper Sandusky-New Riegel, 85-65.
