PREP FOOTBALL: Due to field conditions, Hopewell-Loudon's home game tonight with Fremont St. Joe will occur at Frost-Kalnow in Tiffin. The game begins at 7 p.m.

PREP CROSS COUNTRY: The Seneca East girls finsihed second Saturday in the Blue Division race at the Bill Brown Classic in Ontario. Kirsten Camp finished third overall in a time of 22:07. Also finishing in the top 10 for the Tigers were Anna Willman (sixth, 22:21) and Jennifer Shock (10th, 23:09). Alyssa England finished 12th in 23:11.??JV VOLLEYBALL: Calvert beat Carey, 25-5, 25-15. Megan Casale had 15 assists, two aces, while Sam Beckley smashed eight kills for Calvert.?* Hopewell-Loudon beat Old Fort 25-17, 25-21. Old Fort was led by Bekah Gippert with three kills and Shelby Bigler with seven digs. ?* New Riegel topped Seneca East in two close games 25-22, 25-19. Mikayla Theis led with six kills. Brittany Gillig had nine digs and four aces. Morgan Noftz had seven assists and three aces.?* Bellevue upended Columbian 23-25, 25-18, 25-10. Makayla Sharlow lined nine kills for TC and Alyssa Price served five aces.?* St. Wendelin defeated North Baltimore 25-16, 24-26, 25-4.?

JV TENNIS: Columbian's Emily Banks won a match against Sandusky, and the Tornadoes got victories from the doubles teams of Hannah Smith and Bridgett Cabassa, and Sarah Guzowski and Rachel Gates.

* Calvert's doubles team of Nicole Fretz and Alyssa Kapelka claimed a 5-1 win against Mansfield St. Peter's, while the duo of Lindsay Horn and Mikayla Dariano fell 8-5.

FRESHMAN FOOTBALL: Columbian lost to Bellevue 28-18. Both Aric Recker and Austin Thallman scored touchdowns off fumble recoveries for the Tornadoes. TC also got a touchdown pass from Jake Adams to Josh Briggs. Columbian is now 4-2 on the season.

FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL: Bellevue beat Columbian 25-20, 25-11.

GOLF: Jim Reuss, Paul R. Fey and Gene Sherer shot 4 under to win the Thursday Retirees League scramble at Seneca Hills. Prize holes went to Sherer (long putt No. 9) and Ron Shoup (closest to pin No. 6).?* Dennis Gase won the second half of the Par Tee League with 203 points, 11 clear of Andy Halcomb. Andy Beebe shot the low round with a 39 and Gase the lone skins winner. Prize holes were won by Halcomb (pin shot No. 11), Beebe (proximity shot No. 14), Jason Galitza (long putt No. 13 and long drive No. 17), Dan Mathias (long putt No. 16) and Chris King (proximity shot No. 12). Dave King had the low putts with 13.

JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL: Hopewell-Loudon beat Carey 16-8. Austin Tooker to Dillon Williams. Aaron Sostaric rushed for a touchdown and a conversion. Noah Breidenbach also had a conversion for the Chieftains (5-1).?* Seneca East's eighth grade beat Lakota 33-22. Cory Depinet scored four touchdowns, three were rushing and he was also was on the receiving end of a pass from Nate Snavely. Cory Coppus also threw a touchdown to Ryan Bowerman. Bowerman also made a two-point conversion. Seneca East is now 2-2-1. ?* Alex Daniel ran for two touchdowns and a conversion in Mohawk's 30-0 win over Calvert. Trevor Zender and Austin Shock both ran for a TD, and Brayden Dunlap caught a pair of conversion passes from Ryan Strausbaugh.

JUNIOR HIGH CROSS COUNTRY: Tiffin's boys took third and the girls came in sixth at the Upper Sandusky Elks Invitational. Adam Forrest's 10th (12:48) led the Tiffin boys. Tanner Schreiner (13th, 12:55), Drew Hoffman (19th, 13:04), Jaden Fletcher (36th, 13:38), Oliver Stevens (48th, 13:57), Dathan Liming and Tyler Hawk also ran. Tiffin's girls got a 16th from Lexy Desjardins (14:39). Beca Kimmet (17th, 14:39), Amanda Schwartz (29th, 14:54), Cassandra Gooding (33rd, 14:59), Keely Hoover (51st, 15:57), Lydia Vallery and Lindsay Young also competed.

JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL: Mackenzie Ward served seven aces in a row to erase a seven-point deficit in the second game to help Old Fort beat Hopewell-Loudon's seventh grade 25-6, 25-22. Alli Adelsperger slammed five aces and four kills for the Stockaders and Emily Manasian belted two blocks. Kenzie Bouillon lined three kills for H-L.

* New Riegel's seventh grade beat Seneca East 24-17, 25-15, thanks to 11 aces and four kills from Shelby Mathias.?* Seneca East upended New Riegel 25-15, 25-23 in eighth grade play.?* Alex Niesen served eight aces in Calvert's 25-14, 25-15 seventh grade win over Carey. Allie Beckley added four kills, Sidney Felter tossed up four assists, Skylar Paridso smacked three aces and Kristan Bowers belted three kills.

* Amber Perry hammered 15 aces to fuel Calvert's 25-16, 25-1 win over Carey's eighth grade. Gabby Bennett had four assists for Calvert, and Lindsay Bickley (3) and Tori Featheringill (2) combined for five kills.?* Tiffin's seventh grade fell 25-17, 25-22 to Shelby. Taylor Werling smacked four kills for Tiffin, Riley Williams lined three kills and Emily Bogard had three assists.
