PREP GOLF: The Midland Athletic League tournament originally scheduled for Friday was postponed due to rain. It will occur Monday at 9 a.m. at Green Hills in Clyde.

JV FOOTBALL: Columbian lost to Norwalk 28-20. Mike Rohrbach threw two touchdown passes to Nate Hoyda. Rohrbach also would add a touchdown rush. Jake Smith had an interception on defense for the Tornadoes.

JV SOCCER: Upper Sandusky doubled up Mansfield 4-2.

JV VOLLEYBALL: Mohawk improved to 11-0 by beating Wynford 25-14, 25-15 and Monroeville 25-17, 25-18. Sarah Runion pounded 11 kills for the Warriors, Taylor McClain came up with 24 digs and Clara Adelsperger dished 18 assists. Erin Conner added three kills in the win over Wynford. Against Monroeville, Liz Runion belted five kills and Sarah Runion chipped in seven digs.

n Cameil Ruffing hammered eight kills and four aces to key Seneca East's 25-3, 25-19 win over Plymouth and 25-8, 25-7 win over Vanlue. Kylie Ruffing slammed six kills and six aces, Kaylyn Goshe belted five kills and five aces and Rachel Bauman turned in eight assists and six aces.

n Lakota beat Genoa 25-21, 25-21.

FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL: Stacy Clouse tallied 18 assists and seven digs to key Mohawk's 25-18, 25-20 win over New Riegel and 25-10, 25-18 win over Lakota. MacKenzie Sowers and Ali Konkle each added 10 digs and seven kills for the Warriors (7-1), with Sowers serving four aces and Konkle lining three. Sheyanne Wilhelm chipped in 11 digs, seven kills and four aces and Aubrey Ward had eight kills, six aces and four digs.

n New Riegel split a pair of matches, falling 25-18, 25-20 to Mohawk before beating Lakota 25-13, 25-17. Mackenzie Reinhart's eight kills, five digs and three aces led New Riegel, and Brittany Baker added nine kills and seven digs.

JUNIOR HIGH CROSS COUNTRY: Calvert's Morgan Smith ran seventh to lead all area runners at the Cardinal Stritch Invitational. Smith finished in 13:26.49 for the Senecas, who did not field a full team. Kayla Garza claimed 17th (13:55.66) for Old Fort, which also did not have a full team, while St. Wendelin ended 10th with 262 points in the 22-team field on the strength of Sarah Cockie's 25th (14:21.67). New Riegel did not have a full team, but got a 203rd from Michala Nartker (22:40.86).

n New Riegel claimed fourth with 174 points in the boys half of the Cardinal Stritch Invitational. Travis Williams ran 17th (12:54.05) for the Blue Jackets and Caleb Welly clocked in 20th (13:00.09). Old Fort took 17th (388) on the strength of Joshua Smith's 37th (13:31.8), and Cameron Hunter's 73rd (14:30.55) led St. Wendelin to 21st (561). Josh Kaltenbach ended 143rd (16:08.61) for Bettsville, which did not field a full team.

n Hopewell-Loudon's boys took fourth at the Widewater Invitational, scoring 93 points. Drew Kurtz crossed the line seventh (13:22.24) to spark the Chieftains.

n Shauna Leeth's 12th (13:08) paced Mohawk's run to seventh at the Van Wert County Hospital Invitational. The Warriors scored 230 points in the 18-team event. McKenzie Richardson added a 46th (14:16) for Mohawk. Lakota took 16th (376), led by Andrea Bordner (14:33) and Abbey Strausbaugh (14:33) ending 56th and 57th. Lakota's boys ended 20th (461) in their 24-team race. Matthew Steiner claimed 26th (12:12) and Brant Shank took 81st (13:16) for the Raiders. Cody Eaton ended 120th (13:55) for Mohawk.

CALVERT: Several sporting events have been rescheduled due to inclement weather. The girls tennis match against Sandusky St. Mary is Monday at 5 p.m. at the Heidelberg tennis courts. The tennis match against Mansfield St. Peter's is Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The boys soccer match at Upper Sandusky is Oct. 1 at 10 a.m.

POKER RUN/WALK: The Seneca County Park District and Tiffin University equestrian team will hold the second annual Equestrian Poker Run/Walk today, starting at the Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve at 5777 S. State Route 19 outside Bloomville. Cost is $10 for riders and $5 for walkers. CROSS COUNTRY: The Sutton Bank Elementary Cross Country Race is Wednesday at Myers Park in Attica. Registration for the 1,000-yard race runs 4:45 p.m.-5:30 p.m. The first race begins at 5:30 p.m. for boys in third grade and under. It will be followed at 5:40 p.m. with the girls third grade and under. Boys in grades 4-6 race at 5:50 p.m. with the girls grade 4-6 race at 6 p.m. Entry fee is $2.
