FREMONT - Hundreds of re-enactors are to converge at the Hayes Presidential Center 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 1-2 for the center's annual Civil War encampment.
The two-day event features battle re-creations, period entertainment, demonstrations, food and wares. Children can participate in turn-of-the-century games, and the whole family can take advantage of special discounts on tours of the Hayes home and museum.
Sunday's events are highlighted by a presidential memorial service, featuring military personnel sent by President Barak Obama.
