FOSTORIA - The Fostoria Community Arts Council is to host a reception for artist Anna Fisher, whose watercolors, ceramics,
weavings and sculptures are on view there.
The reception is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the gallery, 125 S. Main St., Fostoria.
This sculpture is titled “Circle of Life.”
A native of England, the artist resides in Wapakoneta. Her work can be found in a dozen Ohio galleries and at the Fort Wayne Botanical Gardens in Indiana.
"My love of art began while growing up in England, surrounded by artists, in the picturesque countryside of East Anglia," according to her website www.annasartworld.com.
Her father wrote short stories and used oil paints as his medium of choice, while her mother created floral displays, according to the site.
Fisher is a board member and galley director of Riverside Art Center, Wapakoneta. She teaches instructional workshops and wellness seminars and gives public art demonstrations.
In addition to Fisher's work, young photographers from Carol Creeger's "Get in Focus" classes are to have their work on display, along with photos from a similar class in Findlay. These photographers ages 5-12 have learned the basics of photography.
The reception is free. Light refreshments are to be served.
