Kara Elise Hoffert and David John Fribley exchanged wedding vows at 5 p.m. Oct. 1, 2010, at Ohio Memorial Chapel, Tiffin. Deacon Mark Springer officiated the double-ring ceremony. A reception followed at Camden Falls Reception Center.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Kay Hoffert of Tiffin.
The groom is the son of John and Kathy Fribley of Big Rapids, Mich.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless, ivory Maggie Sottero gown of empress taffeta with a corset back. The waist and bodice had soft asymmetrical ruching and were set off with embroidery, sequins and bead detailing. The A-line skirt was accented by an overskirt that featured three handmade taffeta rosettes and the cathedral-length train featured beading along the hemline. She wore a finger tip-length veil that was attached to a rhinestone headpiece. She carried a bouquet of red, yellow and orange roses and green hydrangeas accented with hypericum berries and greenery.
Jennifer Dick of Ann Arbor, Mich., was her friend's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Wendy Hoffert of Suffield, sister of the bride, and Katie Hyden of Monroe, Mich., and Jill Leonard of Burlington, Mass., friends of the bride. They wore floor-length strapless, A-line gowns with corset backs in wine with champagne colored waist sashes. They carried bouquets of roses, gerbera daisies and hydrangeas, all in autumn hues.
Christopher Fribley of Big Rapids, Mich., was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Greg Fribley of Big Rapids, Mich., brother of the groom, and Tom Boulton of Milltown, N.J., and Jonathan Hill of Howell, Mich., friends of the groom.
The bride graduated from Columbian High School in 2001 and Eastern Michigan University in 2005. She is pursuing a master's degree in school library media at University of Michigan and is employed at Ann Arbor District Library.
The groom graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1998 and Ferris State University in 2003. He received a master's of science degree in information from University of Michigan in 2005 and is employed by University of Michigan Health System.
Honoring the bride with showers were her sister Wendy Hoffert and aunt Jen Schnaible in Wixom, Mich., and the groom's aunt Mary Dixon and mother Kathy Fribley in Farmington Hills, Mich.
The couple resides in Ann Arbor, Mich.
