FOSTORIA - The Area Agency on Aging has named Leah Hipsher of Fostoria the 2011 Outstanding Senior Citizen. She is to receive her award at 2 p.m. Thursday in Mount Gilead.
A retired businesswoman, mother and grandmother, Hipsher is on the boards of First Step, Fostoria Area Arts Council and Fostoria Women's Club. She also is active at St. Wendelin Church. Earlier this year, she was chosen as a Red Cross Everyday Hero. Last Christmas, she was the brainchild of "Light Up Fostoria."
